BMessenger – Local Chatting with a Touch of BBM Nostalgia

 Hello everyone!

We’re excited to introduce a new application we’ve developed with PySide6, called BMessenger.

What is BMessenger?

BMessenger is a local chatting application that allows users to communicate quickly and easily within the same LAN/Wi-Fi network. Inspired by the nostalgia of the legendary BBM (BlackBerry Messenger), BMessenger delivers a simple yet modern interface, with real-time messaging features between users on the same network.

Key Features of BMessenger

💬 Local chat – communicate between users on the same network, without internet.

🎨 Simple & modern interface – inspired by BBM, built with PySide6 (Qt for Python).
🔔 New message notifications – never miss an incoming chat.
🖥️ Lightweight & fast – runs smoothly even on regular PCs without heavy resources.
🌐 Privacy ensured – all chat data stays inside your local network.
📢 Ping!!! feature – with a single click on the Ping button, you can send a special “P” message to grab the attention of your contact, just like on BBM.

Why BMessenger?

In today’s cloud-based era of online chat apps, BMessenger offers something different: internal communication within the same network. It’s perfect for:

  1. Offices or companies using an intranet.
  2. Universities, schools, or campuses.
  3. Events or communities that need fast, offline messaging.

Technology Behind BMessenger

BMessenger is built with:

  1. Python + PySide6 (Qt for Python) for a modern and interactive interface.
  2. Socket programming for real-time communication between users.
  3. Design inspired by BBM, including the nostalgic Ping!!! feature.
